Today was one of those days where we were going to go for a nice stroll down the canal walk but we ended up crossing a walking bridge over the James River that led us to Belle Isle. Belle Isle is an island within the James River that let’s you view wildlife in it’s natural habitat. It’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It was so nice to explore a new part of Richmond just a few minutes from the heart of the city. Had we known we were going to be getting wet and hanging out a bit we would have packed more appropriately. But that didn’t stop us from having fun! Mac, being the huge water dog he is, took off in the river to splash around and be as crazy as he could be. Water gives him super powers (haha)! Luckily, Lance and I had our eno hammocks with us and hung them up to relax. There was so much going on there from rock climbing to white water rafting! The next time we go I’ll make sure we are more prepared. I’m loving Richmond so much. We are always stumbling on something new that we love!
Richmond is filled with history. Read about Belle Isle here. 🙂
