FREDRICKSBURG FOR OUR 28!

The hubs and I share the same birthday. We like to try to get out and travel somewhere new for our day! We drove up to Fredricksburg, VA this year. It was a quick day trip with my loves to see what the city about an hour away is like. It was right up our alley- Sweet and charming.

I dragged the doods in and out of boutiques and antique/thrift shops. That’s basically what the town was filled with, which is fine by me!

I found some bath goodies at this shop. I’m a sucker for hand crafted bath products and this store was filled with them! They even make their products at the shop and you can watch them do it.

We stopped for a ”large snack” at this local resturant.

Mac thought his water bowl was somewhere cool to sit I guess….

Before heading out we stumbled into this book store. wow- It was adorable! It had endless books upstairs, downstairs and everywhere in between. Everytime you turned a corner you were greeted by a cozy chair begging you to sink in with a good read. We got this handsome nerd a book and t-shirt and headed back home. He’s easy to please- no fancy bath balms required.

I’m just so happy to be 28 and feeling great! For the first time in my life I’m no longer living in chronic pain. This year is going to be my best year yet. I can just feel it. 💗

DINNER AT THE HALFWAY HOUSE

This isn’t your typical restaurant. The building now used for fine dining was once a halfway house. It was built in 1760 on a grant of land from George II from England and is still standing strong! It was once used as a rest stop for people traveling south of Richmond during the Revolution until the 19th century. George Washington, the Marquis de LaFayette, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee, U.S. Grant, James Whitcomb Riley and others were once here.

It was pretty funny that we had dinner at there yesterday because Lance got an email at dinner that he passed (with an A I must add  #proudwife) the second part of getting his CPA. This makes him HALFWAY through it. woot woot!

Hub’s MBA

You’re looking at your new Lehigh University MBA graduate! He actually graduated in December but the ceremony to walk was this past monday. I didn’t take any pics of the actual ceremony {{let’s be honest- you can’t even tell who is who in rows filled with cap and gowns}} but I got some shots of Lance around campus. He’s a pretty handsome nerd if you ask me. 🙂

EASTER 2019

Brunch is one of the things that the hubs and I do best –Give us some beautiful weather on an Easter Sunday and we are all in! We went to a resturant in the shockoe bottom district of Richmond. It was so nice to take a break from working on our house to celebrate Easter. Spending time together and sipping on bubbly was what our relationship was founded on and we are pretty good at it. lol

CHERRY BLOSSOMS IN RVA

I can’t slow down. My scs proceedure over a week ago has me feeling like a million bucks! Make that A MILLIONE BUCKS! 😉 Needless to say everyday has been the best day of my life! If you know me personally then you know my happiness. I can’t stop singing, dancing and smiling! We went into Richmond today for the cherry blossom blooms! I have been obsessed with these trees since we moved to VA and I relized pink trees were a thing. lol. There is a short time frame when they bloom so you have to know when the time is to go. Peak bloom is now and I was happy I got to enjoy them with my husband, pup & Nana.

SPINAL CORD STIMULATER PROCEEDURE

03.29.2019

It’s been three days since my spinal cord simulator proceedure. My body is still extremely weak and in pain from it but I have a good feeling that life is about to change for the better! (But to be honest, I’m a little scared to get ahead of myself) For the first time in a while my chronic pain was gone. I hurt from the incisions but the deep sharp pain I felt all the way to the inside of my bone is gone!!!!!! I’ve been fighting pain my whole life but the chronic pain that disabled me, I’ve been fighting for about 3 years. Lance and I went on a short slow walk and I couldn’t stop smiling because I was walking with no chronic pain. Just the normal pain from an operation. Magic, right!?!

03.30.2019

Ok… I was going to make a blog post of how my overall procedure went but I’m still so early in the recovery process. I’m supposed to only do very light things for the next six weeks but I so badly want to take off! As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, it’s nothing short of magical! Today the only pain I had was from where my surgeon put the battery implant in at. He said that it was harder to put in me because I didn’t have any fat to hide it in. This will probably be the only time in my life that I wished for bigger love handles. Lol! The other two incisions from where the lead was put in feel fine. I kept telling my Nana and Husband that I feel like the little mermaid when she gets her legs for the first time. I mean it’s crazy!! The simple things in life like walking is no longer hard to do anymore and I don’t know what to do with myself. Actually…. I decided the best thing for me to do is walk around Home Goods. I even brought Mac! (lucky dog) Pun intended. An hour went by and I realized that I was perfectly fine. Before this procedure if I could make it out shopping I would only be able to stay a short time before my body would completely give out on me from pain and just exhaustion. I mean like BAM! I would hit a brick wall. I found myself in there for a few hours just doing normal people shopping things. My Nana and Husband kept reminding me that I’m supposed to be taking it easy. I will admit that I am running off of a little lot of adrenaline. I really can’t blame myself for probably doing too much though because I feel like I just got this brand new body!! I mean wow! Medical technology can be so good! I promise that I will take more time to rest in the next few days.

04.01.2019

If you’re reading my blog post then you know that I’m not resting! April fools! Gotcha ya. 😉 I have been following my doctors orders. I’m just having a really hard time sitting still. Patience. is. hard.

04.03.2019

It’s been one week since my surgery! I was pretty exhausted today but all is going well. Everyday feels like the best day of my life! Forever thankful.

I didn’t realize when I started this post that I would be able to feel the affects of the surgery so quickly. I figured I would blog to let everyone know how it was going along the way. So if you read this blog post then thank you for letting me share my happiness with you. 🙂

HARMONY

I spent the day dressing up my cousin Harmony and taking her picture. We both have been wanting to get together for a girls day and we finally got our chance! We didn’t initionally plan to do a photoshoot but one thing led to another. lol I dug through my sister’s closet for outfits, did her hair and make-up and went out in the yard to take advantage of the natural light. In my opinion these pictures turned out gorgeous! Not because of any skills I may have but because this lady is such a natural beauty. We literally just walked around the yard talking and laughing while I snapped these shots. We changed looks towards the end and although they were all different we couldn’t pick a favorite. I’m already looking forward to our next shoot together. Next time we will plan beforehand. haha
