THIRD SUNDAY 2020

THIRD SUNDAY 2020

I grew up thinking that ‘Third Sunday’ was a holiday, that’s how special this day is to my family. It’s our annual family reunion. Since I can remember I’ve looked forward to this day. I would buy a new dress to wear and show up with an empty belly because I knew I was about to eat the best meal of the year! This year was a little different. It was only one day of family visiting instead of two. (thanks covid19) Normally on Saturday we would go to Keith and Deb’s house and then on Sunday we meet up Pleasant Home Baptist Church. This year it was at Aunt Shirley’s house on Saturday. We had a smaller crowd and kept it outside. (thanks again covid19) When I say it’s the best meal of the year I mean it. All home grown produce picked and made the days leading up to Third Sunday. Although this year wasn’t as big as normal we all left with a full belly and even fuller hearts.

SPRING/SUMMER BEDROOM 2020

SPRING/SUMMER BEDROOM 2020

I made a few changes to our bedroom recently. I’m going for a minimal style space that’s still functional -and make it beach vibe fashion! I used my hats as the wall decor. I love that it’s art hanging on the wall and still functional. I also like the idea of changing them out per season. I finally caved and bought two matching table lamps. I’m glad I did because they come in handy when lance and I are reading at night. And last but not least my lover hung my plant up. It’s a teddy bear vine & gives so much life to this space!

EASTER 2020

EASTER 2020

Easter this year was different. Lance and I got all dressed up (like we normally would do) but we had to stay home because of the corona virus. No biggie because we had our own Easter party at home. I made french toast for us and then we spent the rest of the day sipping on mimosas on the back porch while having an impromptu dance party. The best part about being home during a holiday is being able to kick off your shoes when needed. Haha Which makes for a better dance party. πŸ₯‚πŸ˜œπŸ’ž

ORLANDO FOR HARMONY’S 20th BIRTHDAY πŸŽ‚πŸ’œπŸ°

ORLANDO FOR HARMONY’S 20th BIRTHDAY πŸŽ‚πŸ’œπŸ°

It was Harmony’s Birthday last week (March 2) and when we celebrate we go BIG! -So a trip to Orlando it was! Nana and I stayed together in a cabin on the same campground as Harmony and her crew. This made meeting up easy. We had a golf cart and could get to all of the Disney attractions via bus or boat. So convenient!

The evening we got in we met up at Rainforest Cafe for the birthday dinner! The next day we all went to Hollywood Studios. Aunt Jenny bossed I mean lead us around. 😜 We stayed in Star Wars: Galaxy Edge most of the time. I’m not a big fan of Star Wars (sorry y’all) but wow it was unreal! I didn’t get too may pictures at this park because I missed Harmony and was spending much needed cousin time with her.

Nana and I had the last day to ourselves. We went to Magic Kingdom! We didn’t go on too many rides but we made sure we didn’t miss a shop in the park. We’ve seen every retail item Disney has to offer.

VALENTINES DAY HOME 2020

VALENTINES DAY HOME 2020

Happy Valentines Day! I love this holiday because it gives me a reason to decorate everything in pink and heart shapes! Of course it’s all about love too but I like to celebrate that on the daily. I think we all need to see some heart shapes and pretty colors in our life this time of year because everything outside is dead and it’s cold. Not exactly the most picturesque scene if you ask me. Lance and I are going to a cooking class this evening to celebrate Valentines Day. We haven’t been out just the two of us in a while so i’m excited!! (we always have our third wheel- Mac lol) And the fun doesn’t end there because we are going to a concert on Sunday!! Whoo! WE. ARE. PUMPED!!

SPRING FEVER IN FEBRUARY

SPRING FEVER IN FEBRUARY

It’s still cold out but I figured I’d get out so I could wear my new hat and scarf. Haha I normally like to stay indoors during the winter months but spring fever is upon me and the cabin fever is starting to set in. Thankfully the sun was shining today (it’s been so overcast recently) so the hubs, pup and I took the opportunity to get out. We headed to Petersburg, VA with no agenda. (my favorite kind of agenda 😝) We walked downtown and I took my sweet time looking in antique stores while Mac soaked up any attention he got from shoppers. Lance also bought us tickets today to go see The Lumineers next week for Valentines Day. We are pumped!! We’ve been saying we need to go to more concerts. When we found out one of our favorite bands was going to be near by we jumped on it. Can’t wait!!
