HALLOWEEN 2019

HALLOWEEN 2019

The new Aladdin movie came out and Lance and I went to see it. I loved it! Jasmine was my favorite Disney princess growing up (we all have a favorite Disney princess, right!?!) so watching the movie brought me back to my childhood. I had about every princess costume growing up but Jasmine was always my girl. When I figured out I could have Mac be Rajah (jasmines pet tiger) then it was game on to be Aladdin, Jasmine and Rajah for Halloween. It was all pretty fitting because Lance just like Aladdin is my prince and Mac just like Rajah is a loyal, noble pet companion. ๐Ÿ’—

FREDERICKSBURG FRIDAY

FREDERICKSBURG FRIDAY

Lance, Mac and I spent last Friday in Fredericksburg. We love the charm this city has to offer with its buildings dating back to the 18th century and cute shops downtown. We didn’t have any kind of agenda. We just spent the day weaving in and out of stores and getting a bite to eat. This is our second time here so it was fun to revisit shops that we fell in love with the first time we came.

PUMPKIN PICKINโ€™ WITH MY BOO

PUMPKIN PICKINโ€™ WITH MY BOO

If you don’t go to a pumpkin patch then it’s not really fall then, right!?! Lance and I went to one Saturday in Richmond to pick out pumpkins to carve. We’ve been carving them every year since we met. I just realized that. Lance loves fall just as much as I do so getting him to do all the fall things with me is no prob. Actually, he’s the one that suggested we carve pumpkins this weekend and go to a pumpkin patch to pick them out. We are those basic fall lovers. This pumpkin patch was loaded with pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and textures. I loved it!! The more pumpkins the merrier if you ask me. They also had a hay ride and home made honey. We are suckers for home made goods and bought some honey. We carved our pumpkins that evening. I was going for a leaf theme and carved leafs out all around my pumpkin. The idea looked better in my head but I’m still happy with it. Lance killed it with his! He did a really cute ghost. We also baked the seeds and I made us ghost shaped cookies.

BEACH WEEK WITH THE BIRTHDAY BEACH

BEACH WEEK WITH THE BIRTHDAY BEACH

Nana and I spent last week doing our thing! -shopping, beachinโ€™ it and eating good food in between. We have been coming over to the Destin area for years now. I think our first shopping trip out there was when I was in middle school and completely obsessed with Abercrombie & Fitch. (cue the moose t-shirts & ripper jeans) I found out there was a store there and my shopping partner and I went to check it out. Weโ€™ve been hooked since! Since then so many more shops and restaurants have opened. -Good thing because they needed to keep up with our good taste. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was Nanaโ€™s Birthday this past week and we made sure to spend the day the right way. -Eating cake and picking out the very best from Lilly Pulitzer with her favorite person. Me. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Until next time Destin. โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ›

HOME IS WHERE THE BEACHES ARE AT.

HOME IS WHERE THE BEACHES ARE AT.

Mac and I came down for what was supposed to be a week but stayed for two. Oops! -That’s what having a good time will do to you!! I got carried away having fun with my beaches and being on the ones with white sand and emerald blue water. ๐Ÿ˜‰ My health is good to go now so I was all over the place when I was in town. I wanted to do all the things I love from back home and pick back up on photography. ๐Ÿ’—ย  Major bonus for seeing the Blues while I was in town!ย I hope everyone is having a fun & happy summer! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ŽโœŒ๐Ÿป

FREDRICKSBURG FOR OUR 28!

FREDRICKSBURG FOR OUR 28!

The hubs and I share the same birthday. We like to try to get out and travel somewhere new for our day! We drove up to Fredricksburg, VA this year. It was a quick day trip with my loves to see what the city about an hour away is like. It was right up our alley- Sweet and charming.

I dragged the doods in and out of boutiques and antique/thrift shops. That’s basically what the town was filled with, which is fine by me!

I found some bath goodies at this shop. I’m a sucker for hand crafted bath products and this store was filled with them! They even make their products at the shop and you can watch them do it.

We stopped for a ”large snack” at this local resturant.

Mac thought his water bowl was somewhere cool to sit I guess….

Before heading out we stumbled into this book store. wow- It was adorable! It had endless books upstairs, downstairs and everywhere in between. Everytime you turned a corner you were greeted by a cozy chair begging you to sink in with a good read. We got this handsome nerd a book and t-shirt and headed back home. He’s easy to please- no fancy bath balms required.

I’m just so happy to be 28 and feeling great! For the first time in my life I’m no longer living in chronic pain. This year is going to be my best year yet. I can just feel it. ๐Ÿ’—

DINNER AT THE HALFWAY HOUSE

DINNER AT THE HALFWAY HOUSE

This isn’t your typical restaurant. The building now used for fine dining was once a halfway house. It was built in 1760 on a grant of land from George II from England and is still standing strong! It was once used as a rest stop for people traveling south of Richmond during the Revolution until the 19th century. George Washington, the Marquis de LaFayette, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee, U.S. Grant, James Whitcomb Riley and others were once here.

It was pretty funny that we had dinner at there yesterday because Lance got an email at dinner that he passed (with an A I must add ย #proudwife) the second part of getting his CPA. This makes him HALFWAY through it. woot woot!
